Fashion 411: Spring's Hottest Trendz

Hola G.O.G.'s!

SO, as many of you know, fashion these days is dominated with trend setting threads. One season they're in, the next season they're out. It's all about the fun of it though, and how boring would it be if we wore the same things all the time? There have been a few trendz that have taken over the scene recently, so if you wanna get in on the groove, here are some of HOTTEST!

1. PLAID, PLAID PLAID!
Since late winter, Plaid patterns have surfaced on almost everything: shirts, jackets, shoes, pants, even accessories! Here are some cute plaid pretties if you've got plaid fever...

2. Bold and Interesting Necklaces
Bold and colorful neck pieces have never been so popular, a trend ratified by all the ladies at this seasons Academy Awards. It is an easy and chique way to not only accentuate clothing, but to add creativity to even the dullest of ensembles. Here are some of FaBeauty's picks...

3. Spring Jackets and Trenches in Bright Colors
Spring is on its way, (next week) and bright colors will soon replace the muted hues of winter and fall. With the weather change and all, G.O.G.'s are gonna need a spring jacket. Here are some of our favorite picks:

4. The Maxi Dress!
One of my absolute favorite trend since last summer. They are definitley back and in full force this Spring and Summer! These floor length beauties can be worn with gladiator sandals for a run to the grocery store on a warm spring or summer day, can be dressy for a church event, and super cute if you throw on a cropped blazer. What can't you do with the Maxi dress?! Check these out:

5. Nautical Stripes
As opposed to maybe some of the other trends out there, nautical stripes represent a classic trend that has been around through our fashion up's and down's. So why is it still a trend you ask? Hmmmm....good question. Well, I can't answer that but I do know judging from the looks of things, nautical stripes are hot for this spring and summer. Take a look:

I love ur blog but I was wondering about the maxi dressed. Do u think they r universally flattering? I know they hide many stomach and thigh flaws but do they work if u r chunky?

You bring up a great question. The answer is Yes! The maxi dress can be worn by many body types, which is why I love it so much. It's great for all sizes, except I would say the extra petite in height. While it is still a ultra-feminine and modern look, it can make those of us who are vertically challenged apppear even shorter than we really are. But, for curvy G.O.G.'s a maxi dress is great because it can actually camoflage the mid-section if it is lose and flowy. Just make sure you get the right size, so that it can flow off your body, instead of outlining your silhouette. If you are concerned about too much clevage,a tank top or cami underneath should fix the problem. Bold patterns are great too! Hope this helps!
