Wednesday Word: Hello, Sunshine! Fabulous Colors to Make You Smile

Happy Wednesday G.O.G.'s,


We thought it appropriate to kick off the middle of the week with some sunshine, a little joy if you will! We've got some of the cutest outfits and brightest colors that are wonderful to wear this season. Did you know that wearing colors can also have an effect on your mood, so the next time you're feeling a little 'blah'...try some of these fabulous colors on for size!

Sunshine first comes from within, the cutest outfit wouldn't be able to outshine the brightest spirit! Do you remember when Nehemiah in 8:10  said "The joy or the Lord is your strength." This means the joy we have when we trust in God is the greatest strength we will ever need to overcome life's challenges and obstacles.

And the prince of joy, King David himself, also said this: "You will show me the path of life: in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand there are pleasures for evermore." So, put your trust in the Lord and be glad, there is nothing too great for him to work out in your favor.

Fit' of the Day: Eve in All Black Everything

Today's Fit' of the Day is Rapper and Actress Eve, in this super-edgy look as she attendsthe ‘Scream 4’ New York screening after party in New York City. She pairs black leather pants with a black cropped tuxedo jacket and black tee underneath and black platform heels. She accesorizes with bold ivory rings and a red manicure and pedicure. Et voila...Sophisticated-edge. Fabulous!

Fashion FYI: Tyra Banks Launches New Website "Type F"!

Hello Lovlies,
So, word on the street is the fabulous and zany Tyra Banks has started a new fashion and beauty site called Type F. The site, http://www.typef.com/ according to Tyra, is for all women, especially those that do not fall into the type that would be on the cover of the most popular magazines, the ones that haven't been apart of the "Beauty Tribe" in society, as she phrased it during her appearance on Piers Morgan Tonight on CNN.



Checked out the site, and indeed it is fabulous. The fashion mogul gives a personalized version of fashion, beauty, skincare and style tips. Currently, she has a video series called Fa-fa-fa Fashion done with Editor at large, Andre Leon Tally, a funny video series about fashion's timeless pieces and trends.



No one does fashion and comedy like Tyra. She adds a great sense of humour to the sometimes over-stuff industry of fashion.



What's more awesome is she also gives us the juice behind some DIY projects from skin care, to easy ways to vamp up a regular outfit with everyday items.


The one thing we absolutely love about Ms. Banks is she proves you don't have to have tons of money or have studied fashion as an occupation to be fierce, hunny. You can work it out just as you are. Check it out, G.O.G.'s, so far, we approve of Type F, and looking foward to much more from Ms. Tyra!

Season Should-Have: The Cropped Jacket

Hello Fabulous Ones,

This season's must-haves are relative, of course. Here, we believe a trend shouldn't just last you one or two months, but we like trends that have a longer life-span. Example: Skinny jeans were thought to be a trend for the moment, but anyone who saw their versatility and appeal, knew they'd be around much longer than a season. Today, most of our pants are still tapered at the ankles in the style of skinnny jeans.

With that Said, Our Predicted Season Must Have for Spring/Summer 2011: Cropped Jackets!



While, the cropped jackets aren't foreign, they are back with fury. They're now in all colors, like the orange cropped leather jacket worn  by Tika Sumpter from Gossip Girl  and The Game.

Reach Higher: The Sky Isn't Really the Limit

As the new week begins, we'll continue with style, tips and beauty tricks, but first things first.

Today's Thought: REACH HIGHER.

So, it's a season of making moves. Everyone, regardless of where you are, can reach toward higher goals/ things that seem intimidating but in reality, are just waiting for you to conquer them.

Eccelsiates 3:1 reminds us, "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." Well, just as seasons change, naturally,the things we strive for should also change.

Even Paul, in his day, was onto this concept of continuous progress. He said it best in the book of Philipians 3:13 "But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me..."

Worthy of the Fit' of the Day selection is the fabulous Kimora Lee in this earthy-green look on April 5th 2011 at the launch of 'Just Fabulous' in West Hollywood.

Why do we like it? Well, Kimora looks great in these causal, but glamourous pieces. Almost anyone can wear this and look great! She simply pairs an army green leather bomber jacket with a simple green dress. She compliments these solid pieces with strappy be-jeweled sandals and a few bracelets, and ta-dah....
