Beauty And Pamper: The Wonder of Strawberries & Our Strawberry Face Mask

Hello Lovlies,

Spring weather is here for most of us (sorry for those of you in the Northeast and mid-west, but don't worry, higer temps are coming soon!) so you know its all about that healthy, happy, glowing skin which is the perfect accessory to any look. As we discussed in our post "Top 5 Super Skin Sins We Committ"  http://giftofgifts.blogspot.com/2011/03/five-super-skin-sins-we-all-commit-tips.html  we consider fruits and water to be essential to having great, fabulous, glowing skin. But, what would we say is perhaps one of the best fruits for the skin?

The Strawberry!

Strawberries are great for the complexion because they are packed with vitamins and nutrients that go straight to the dermis. Plus, strawberries contain saylicylic acid and a ton of healthy vitamins and antioxidants to repair and nourish damaged skin. When applied directly on the face, the properties in strawberries get down to business in your pores while the seeds act as a natural exfoliating beads. It works wonders especially for folks with oily skin. It's great!

Try our quick and easy Strawberry mask recipe to see if you like it!

Here's what you'll need:
-1/2 cup of RIPE Strawberries (or 3 or 4 medium to large size berries)
-4-5 tablespoons of honey
-1/2 teaspoon of fresh squeezed lemon juice
-Blender or Puree machine

Tip: If you have oily skin, use a little more lemon juice. But, if you have dry skin, try adding a few teaspoons of plain yogurt. You can customize the mask to your needs).
Directions: Gently rub the mixture into your skin with your fingertips, leave it on for at least 10-15 minutes, then wash off with warm water and pat dry. Be careful to apply the mask around the eyes and lips and not on the eyelid or too close to the edge of the eyes. In addition, do not use a strawberry mask if you have sunburned or broken skin or any berry allergies.

Your skin will be left feeling fresh and supple. Lets us know what you think of it!

Be Blessed!
