Our Fit' of the Day today goes to singer Mary J. Blige in this super cool and relaxed look. She looks great with her lightly colored golden locks, taupe blazer and stripped scarf neatly tied around her neck. She pairs the two with a pair of extra fitted stone-washed skinny jeans, a stylish pair of tennis shoes and an over sized leather bag. Mary was spotted outside her midtown hotel in NYC.

Fabulous, without even really trying! Gotta love it.

*Three Snaps*: Curvy Ladies Shutting It Down

Hiya!

It's no secret that curvy ladies have been underestimated in the fashion world due largely in part to the stereotype about size and clothing. But ladies with curves and voluptuous figures have been shutting it down for years now, and most recently there have been great examples of women with full-figures rocking perfectly tailored pieces, fabulous dresses and looks that show beauty and style comes in all sizes.

Let's take a look at some modern Curvaceous Showstoppers!


"The View" Co-Host Sherri Shepherd looks stunning in this perfectly fitted grey dress and black pumps. The toned legs are killing em' too!


"Glee" Actress Amber Riley looks beautiful in this black and white stripped asymmetrical dress and red pumps. Skin is dewy and glowing.







Comedienne, Actress and now late night television host Mo'Nique has made some excellent style choices recently since her weight loss. She usually pics flattering dresses and pieces that accentuate her curves, not hide them. She looks great in her flowing and form fitting dresses. *Three snaps, hunny*





And of course, the mega-talented media mogul Oprah has been curvaceous and beautiful as far back as the 80's. Oprah usually picks pieces that also compliment her curves, and hugs her figure in all the right places like this purple dress she is wearing on the cover of her magazine. You've got to be confident with your figure to be on the cover of every one of your own magazines!


Although "Ugly Betty" and "Our Family Wedding" actress America Ferrera has gotten more svelte during the years, she still maintains her curves in a great way, showing people that curves come in all sizes. By picking pieces that are tailored to her figure, America sure knows how to work her curves!








Whether you're curvy or straight, there are pieces that make a bombshell out of any figure. There is no such thing as one type of beauty, and these ladies are proof! Work your beautiful curves!

Fit' of the Day: Tasha Smith is Black and Blue

Our Fit' of the Day goes to actress Tasha Smith, from the hit movies Why Did I Get Married and Jumping the Broom. She looks simply gorgeous in this sky blue wrap dress! She pairs this cute dress, which has drapping detail perfectly around the hips, with an edgy black leather bomber and black peep-toe leather booties. Love the balance of this look with the blue and black leather, just the right proportions to create a balanced and polished look. Go ahead then, Ms. Smith!

What is Your GIFT?

Hey G.O.G.'s,

As the popular comedian Steve Harvey once said: your gift is "most-likely" the thing you do the BEST with the LEAST effort. Do you agree?



However we want to describe what exactly a gift is, or the process of finding it,  either way it is absolutely certain we all have one. A Gift...something given to you by God that you did not work for. Something that travels with you wherever you go. No need to pack it in your suitcase or box it up because it is already a part of you.



A Gift... something that inspires other people to do the same or something similar without you even knowing it. A Gift.... something that you don't have to work extremely hard at just to be average at it. Usually when you work hard at something that is ALREADY your "gift" it pushes you into the territory of excellence, far beyond average. This is what we at G.I.F.T. believe is the definition of a "gift."



A  God-given gift isn't always very easy to find, however. Arguably one of the best basketball players to ever live, Michael Jordan, has talked about his very obvious gift in agility, althletics and basketball. But do you think many people, including Michael Jordan himself doubted that basketball was his "gift"? One of his most famous quotes says"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."



Even Jordan's gift was challenged, so challenges do not mean conclusively that a gift does not exist in a particular area. When Jordan worked hard at his gift, it pushed him beyond average and into excellence. This is what we mean by a "gift"





So, what's YOUR gift which God has placed inside of you? Here is a scripture to ponder: "Do not neglect the gift which is in you, [that special inward endowment] which was directly imparted to you [by the Holy Spirit] by prophetic utterance when the elders laid their hands upon you [at your ordination]." 1 Timothy 4:14.


Locate your gift and you will have located a significant aspect of life. It's definitley well worth it :-)

Fit' of the Day: Miss Kelly's Blazin' White Blazer

Hi All,

So, our Fit' of the Day is singer Miss Kelly Rowland in this fabulous, crisp and sophisticated look. Kelly wears one of our favorite style items this season (white) by rocking this white blazer with a plain white tee underneath, extra dark fitted skinny jeans and a pair of fabulous rusty bronze t-strap heels. The white blazer, by the way, fits her pefectly: tapers underneath the bust and falls at the widest part of the hip.

Fit' of the Day: Garcelle Beauvais Sizzles in Animal Print

Our Fit' of the Day goes to the ever-gorgeous actress, Garcelle Beauvais with this stunning look as she attends  the 18th Annual Race to Erase MS Gala at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel on April 29, 2011 in Los Angeles, California.

She's rocking this leopard print dress (love the style of print on this dress) with an awesome leather bomber jacket, strappy platform sandals with what appears to be a dark silver chunky necklace and a black mani and pedi. Her rosy cheeks and smoky eye are equally as flawless. *Three Snaps*.
